A standard acoustic dreadnought fits perfectly within. It is durable on the outside with gold stitching along the lid and the three hinges and four latches are also gold colored. One of the latches is lockable and includes two keys. The handle is also very sturdy. The inside has black plush padding and a small compartment for storing whatever you might need to carry with you. I am able to fit three small electronic tuners, guitar strap, picks, an extra set of strings and a cleaning cloth inside with room to spare. I am totally satisfied with this hardcase and for the Amazon list price ($50) you would be hard pressed to find a better deal than this. I found mine at a local guitar shop and paid $20 more and still feel like I got a hell of a deal. The Guardian Hardshell Case fits my guitar snug, and the decent amount of black plush-like padding keeps my Kona K1 away from any scratches and bumps. The compartment under the neck is large enough for me; I can stuff in about a billion picks, a strap, and a cleaning cloth. I'd still have plenty of room. You could also put a few things under the headstock if you needed to. The exterior has a leather like texture and has gold stitching and gold colored latches. There's 2 things I have to mention, the locking mechanism is loose if you haven't locked it, meaning the actual part where you insert the key can be easily moved around with your finger. Fortunately it doesn't actually lock if you move it that way. The other thing is that I have to put a bit of work into closing the case, but that's probably because the lower body of my Kona K1 is just slightly... It is sturdy without being to heavy, well padded, it looks nice and has a nice fit for my guitar and has a nice storage compartment. The handle is plastic ,but it seams to be strong. It has a locking latch that will be nice for travel. So far I have not found anything I dislike or am bothered by about this case, especially for this price. |
